The Art of Tea and Poetry

FOR THE LOVE OF LADY QUANTA

“99% of physics is known!”
Save for the photoelectric koan!
With a packet of light, came to dethrone
A patent clerk; Kelvin’s claim all but blown.

Energy absorption and radiation;
Discrete quanta is a surprising notion;
A math trick said Max with extreme caution;
Einstein proved true, Planck’s postulation!

Each and every drop of light
Black body consumes with radiant delight.
Silent particles in vibrating flight;
Classical determinism violated, Newton’s plight.

Paired photons of opposite spins
Telepathic, faster than the travelling twins;
Spin unmasked as measurement begins;
Action-at-a-distance! Einstein grins!

Is it a particle or is it a wave?
Duality opened a new world, brave;
To a system collapse, observation, a slave!
Schrodinger and his cat, to theory, gave;

May I know a particle’s speed and velocity?
“You certainly may not!” spoke Heisenberg with authority.
Choose one with care and alacrity!
The other is measurable, but with uncertainty!

"Oh, Erwin, your model is such a bore,
Rather, childish, I might add", says Neils Bohr.
"Ahh! Do not be a loser so sore,
And admit it, I know wave more".

Approaches the day of Valentine;
I have asked Lady Quanta out to dine!
Full of uncertainty, emboldened by wine!
Awaiting her answer, in a black hole shrine!
