The Art of Tea and Poetry

The Art of Tea and Poetry

In Me, a Poem

Around me, the cement of silence,
the trees too, hold their breath.
The lake serene, like a meditating monk
and in me, a poem squirming to sprout.

In this night, silent like a statue,
when will starlight unfurl my fingers
like the petals of lilies beside me
pulsating with pangs of blooming?

But oh, these worn out words
these constant and common clichés
like weeds strangling flowers
around thoughts I wish to convey.

And why must I resort to rhyming,
and submit to the measures of metre,
when my heart wants to sing a merry song
like mellifluous melodies of mountain streams?

Oh! how creation demands the price of anguish.
Is't an obedient genie, subject to my wish?
