The Art of Tea and Poetry

The Art of Tea and Poetry

In Memory

Fine-
they lie.
Mother Earth
inhumes them all.
Sisters misweaving
their colourful carpets.
Even the red dye flowing
through our throbbing lives cannot match
what the sisters initially wove.
And their tender smiles- ever more- unmatched.

Pinch of Pepper: This poem is an etheree- a ten line non-rhyming form, each line having as many syllables as the line number.

The poet chose this form because of the lives which friend, Deah, his wife, Yusor, and his sister-in-law, Razan, lived- progressively increasing and growing - until suddenly cut short unceremoniously by their neighbour.
